In Chicago, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Illinois, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

I don’t know what happened to these guys, I used to shop at the other location. (closed) No discounts anymore. In fact I actually over payed for ph buffer. No prices, no credit card system. You have to pay with Zelle or cash ????? I would suggest you take your business somewhere else.

I would strongly caution anyone from dealing with CHICAGO HYDRO-ORGANICS LLC-THOMAS TRILLA. I trusted him with my money under the clear condition that it would be paid back, and he has failed to keep his word. Despite repeated assurances and promises, I have not been repaid. This shows a complete lack of honesty and integrity. Be very careful before giving him any money or entering into any kind of financial agreement. PAY LIMELIGHT

They saved my aero garden! As someone trying not to shop on Amazon, finding fertilizer for my hydroponic aerogarden has been difficult. No garden stores had it. But the owner had a great recommendation, and now this seedling that was close to failing a week ago is thriving and has doubled in size. Thank you!!

Good place but very crappy when it comes to opening on time. Don’t waste your time showing up at 10. Who knows what time they roll outta bed. Many times I show up even at 1130 and still closed. So far, 4 sales lost here cause I went elsewhere for what I needed smh

I called looking for some extra h202 for my sensory deprivation float tank because I forgot to order more in time and these guys came to the rescue! Every pool store I called did not have what I needed and were so bland and unfriendly on the phone. Then as a last ditch effort I called these guys because a friend said a hydro store might have some and wow they were the friendliest people I have ever dealt with, I have no idea what other reviews are complaining about they were literally so nice. Mario was down to earth, helpful, and even gave me a discount I didn't ask for just because I drove an hour to get there (because my area has little to nothing out here) will definitely be back!!
